I think they were justifiably a little tired after making the final in 2
events!

The NCRA crew were somewhat suprised to win this one!
NB Two ex-international lightweights in the Lea crew.

Stop press:
NCRA are doing a Commonwealth Games VIII for the moment - the latest 4+ is
Nolan & Hamilton from the UL/Molesey crew with MacClennan & Morrison from the
Leander crew. Incidently the cox is Thompsett of UL as Jorgen wasn't too
pleased with Adrian Ellison's appalling steering on Sunday! (And with all
those Olympic and World medals too!)
Watch out for their Lucerne performance.

UL looked to have a good chance of winning this until one of their guys
passed out at the end of the semi (after being ill last week) and was
stretchered off. The other three buried themselves pulling him along
after Remenham. They had a sub from the B crew on Sunday so a good
performance for a scratch crew. Not many people saw the UL coach in tears and
the Belfast coach dancing around on Saturday evening!

Perhaps Xenon's frighteningly fast 6.39 at Paris had something to do with it?

I'd say the main problem with UK sculling is that most of the best scullers
spend all summer rowing. The London boys would undoubtably make a top class
quad given time.

PS If the Stewards stich up the draw as far as stations are concerned, then
they must be very good at weather prediction as the fastest station is very
dependent on conditions. I'm not saying they don't stitch it up in other
ways mind you....
